Our History

Wonderley & Hall Solicitors is a local success story that has grown from the combination of old-fashioned values and local town pride.

Robert George Wonderley was born in Toowoomba on August 28, 1865, and completed his secondary education at Toowoomba Grammar School.

Showing a drive to succeed early in life, Mr Wonderley was only 25-years-old when he became a solicitor at Hamilton & Hamilton on June 9, 1891.

Three years later, Mr Wonderley was made a partner of the firm and the name changed to Hamilton & Wonderley in 1894.

Over the next 14 years the practice changed names a few times, until Arthur Hall joined as a partner in 1908 and the partnership of Wonderley & Hall was created.

One hundred and twenty years since Mr Wonderley became a partner, the firm known as Wonderley & Hall Solicitors has built a reputation for quality service within the Toowoomba community.

The longevity and impressive reputation of the practice can be attributed to the staff and their passion for the law and their clients.

With only 14 partners in 120 years, the firm and its clients have benefitted from the stability, extensive experience and local knowledge of its partners and staff.

The practice was originally run from 363 Ruthven St, but made its home 33 Neil St, at the corner of Neil and Margaret streets in 1995.

With passionate staff and quality services on offer, there is little doubt Wonderley & Hall Solicitors will continue to practice law within the Toowoomba community for many years to come.
