Agnes Derrick has a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Business (Marketing major) with Distinction and she was admitted as a lawyer in early 2017.  She is registered on the roll of legal practitioners in both the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia.  With pre-admission experience in building and construction disputes, as well as litigation, dispute resolution and insolvency, Agnes developed an interest in all things civil litigation early in her legal career.  Having worked in the legal industry for almost a decade, Agnes has a wealth of experience in resolving various types of disputes.  This includes dealing with Commercial & General Civil Litigation disputes, Wills & Estates disputes, Building & Construction Disputes, Debt Recovery, Insolvency, and disputes involving partners of a business, or beneficiaries and Trustees of a Trust.  She has a particular interest in Wills & Estate Litigation matters, as well as Building & Construction matters.

Agnes also has a background in events and marketing, which developed her strong grasp on identifying a client’s needs and overarching goals to develop the best strategy for each particular client.  Clients from all walks of life may find themselves in situations which require Agnes’ high level problem-solving and analytical skills.

On a day-to-day basis, Agnes deals with a range of litigation and dispute resolution matters the subject of Court or Tribunal proceedings.  Agnes is passionate about giving her clients the legal support they need during what can at times be, an overwhelming and stressful experience.  By providing legal advice which identifies all the options, pros, cons, risks, and best and worst case scenarios for her clients, as well as remaining upfront about the costs of every matter as it progresses, Agnes often receives positive feedback from her clients and has become a trusted advisor to many.

Agnes understands the personal and commercial impact her work has on her clients.  Keeping this front of mind, she strives to work closely with each client to achieve the best possible outcome in every situation.

As a team player, Agnes also works with and provides assistance to her colleagues in the litigation and dispute resolution team and takes on matters from both our Toowoomba and Oakey offices.

Outside of work, Agnes loves music, dancing and outdoor adventures with family and friends.
